11/12  2140 70 years and 1 day old.  We had most of the family here and Hannah, Sara, TJ and I did the Kevin's Run in West Lynn.  It was advertised as an 8k but was 5.6 miles long.  So longer.  And brutal in terms of the cross country part.  steep slippery hills, 4 times through the water and all in all exhausting.  But, you know, fun.  We didn't stay for the party so I'm not sure how I fared against the other 70 year olds.  There appeared to be a few and they seems better prepared for the difficult parts that I dreaded...especially the steep downhills. Today I did a 5 mile run around the river in Portland.  Slowly but went ok.  Still with sore groin muscles.  I'm not doing them any favors with this running.  I may give in and see someone.  Not yet. Still need some better photos as well.

11/5  1400 Ran today, slowly from the Salem downtown Starbucks.  Saturday/Sunday runs usually are from some Starbucks in Salem.  There are several.  My Salem running friends are Don, Dennis, Sarah, Rita, Pam, Denise (Deni), Laurie, and occasionally some others.  Don usually tells where we are meeting, a different Starbucks each of the two days.  He and Dennis find the routes.  Various speeds and coffee afterwards is the best part.  They like doing relays which this year got me to the Bend Beer Chase, Cascade Lakes, Barrel to Keg (Corvallis to Newport) and Hood to Coast.  Those are fun because mostly social rather than competitive and all easy to get along with. Still with some groin pain which, like planter fasciitis seems to get better once I'm moving.  So I will keep at it for now. Still looking for some photos.
11/3   5:31 PST I will have to liven this blog up with photos or no will look at it.  That will be my weekend project.  I wrote a first draft today to put at the VON donation/fundraising website.  Sent it off to be critiqued.  I've done away with my plan to have each donor vote on whether I make my time goal.  The priority is to raise the money and not make donating complicated.  Skipped running yesterday.  Still with that pain and that leg is definitely weaker than my left one. Used the Elliptical trainer this morning and that was only a little uncomfortable...well not uncomfortable, just can tell the nagging area is there as I'm moving.  I am going to go out and run in just a few minutes to test how it feels.  Since this is also a personal QI thing, I need to continue to write a PDSA for the running.  I've done one for the fundraising (which I had better update.
11/1--Back in Oregon.  On the plane ride, I emailed Jeffrey and Danielle and told them my idea about doing fundraising tied to my Boston Marathon training and run next April.  Not too much in the way of specifics but enough.  Both like the idea and gave me the blessing to go forth with it.  So now I'm working on a plan to roll out.  And to work with the VON tech folks to be sure this will work . I ran 4 miles in Portland in the morning.  My new Adidas Ultraboosts.  Slowly today after something faster on the 606 in Chicago Monday.  Still have weird groin pain on my left side.  Some days it's worse than others; today was one of those.  In the 50s, so warmer than Chicago.  No rain.  No tights.
